Christine M. Stout, R. N. has served as Executive Director of Friedell Managed Care (an entity of Health Management Services, Inc) since its founding in July 1991. Ms. Stout has been a key factor in the profitability of the Friedell medical practices and the turnaround of other businesses for which Health Management Services (
HMS) has provided consulting services. Expertise in contracting, quality assurance, utilization management, and operations are among the areas Ms. Stout has brought to Health Management Services. Ms. Stout now leads a staff of over twenty five in providing quality and cost effective health care management services within the context of patient satisfaction and corporate profitability.
After putting herself through nursing school while raising a family, Christine Stout, R. N. worked as a floor nurse. Soon, Ms. Stout's managerial assets and commitment to patient care were recognized and rewarded with a position with HealthChicago, one of the Chicago area's first Health Maintenance Organizations. Ms. Stout developed the quality assurance and utilization review programs for HealthChicago which became a model for other health plans in the Chicago area.
In 1988, Ms. Stout accepted a position with MultiCare HMO, a Chicago based health plan serving the small business and entrepreneurial community's health care needs. Ms. Stout quickly rose from Director of Quality Assurance to Assistant Executive Director. In 1990, Ms. Stout became Executive Director of MultiCare HMO. Ms. Stout has been the key individual involved in the due diligence processes for the proposed purchase or sale of various health plans and medical practices.
In 1991, Ms. Stout accepted an opportunity to help found Friedell Managed Care. In that role,
Ms. Stout developed the QA and UR policies for the Friedell medical practices. She negotiated several key contracts with area health plans increasing the patient base to three times its original membership. Working with health plan marketing departments and based upon the solid reputation of the quality care and cost effectiveness of
HMS management, Ms. Stout was instrumental in the transfer of patients from unprofitable medical groups to the Friedell medical practices.
Currently, Ms. Stout is focusing her considerable talents building new business relationships and developing new service lines.
Building working relationships with physicians, health plans, payors, and other key players in today's health care market, is the strength behind Christine Stout, R.
